One week down and The View is already back in full swing. The famed ABC talk show began its 25th season (!) last week, celebrating its silver anniversary with a few shake-ups to the normal programming. Like, for example, this season’s panel: instead of having five women to host the show, there are only four. But there’s a twist! Every week, we’ll get a conservative guest co-host in Meghan McCain‘s old seat, as well as a returning co-host to celebrate Flashback Friday. This week, we’re getting down to hot topics with Mary Katharine Ham.
So far, we’ve met former Congresswoman and political commentator Mia Love, as well as seen the return of The View OG Star Jones. In the weeks to come, we’re set to have visits from big names like Condoleezza Rice, Eboni K. Williams, Carly Fiorina and more. But The View is keeping those Flashback Friday guests under wraps, so stay tuned to see who we can expect on this Friday’s (Sept. 17) episode.
Let’s meet this week’s co-host set to take the stage with Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines. Here’s everything you need to know about Mary Katharine Ham.
Who is Mary Katharine Ham, the new guest co-host of The View?
Mary Katharine Ham is a conservative journalist who has written for The Federalist, Townhall Magazine, and is currently a contributor for CNN. In the past, she’s contributed to Fox News, as well as served as the editor-at-large for conservative blog Hot Air.
“I have a very serious contrarian streak,” Ham said of her political beliefs back in 2018. “It is not why I believe what I believe. But I had, from a very young age, looked around and was like, ‘It feels like everyone here’s saying the same things all the time.’ I thought, ‘There’s probably other things,’ and I wanted to test those waters.” So, those who were missing that strong contrarian voice on The View might be happy with Ham’s presence. Those who were enjoying the peace and quiet, on the other hand, may not be as plussed.
Is Mary Katharine Ham the permanent replacement for Meghan McCain?
Not that we know of., though she could be. That’s because The View has yet to announce the permanent replacement for McCain. They’re “taking a little time” to find the official host, and in the meantime, we’re getting guest co-hosts as a replacement.
How long will Mary Katharine Ham be a co-host on The View?
Ham will be co-hosting The View for just two days this week, beginning today and continuing into tomorrow’s (Sept. 14) episode. It’s a quick stint, so don’t miss her!
Who is guest co-hosting The View next week? The View Season 25 guest host schedule:
We don’t know next week’s guest co-host quite yet! So far, we know that Condoleezza Rice, Carly Fiorina, Alyssa Farah, S.E. Cupp, Eboni K. Williams, Cameran Eubanks and Gretchen Carlson are on the roster for the weeks to come. This week’s Flashback Friday guest is also TBA at the moment. Stay tuned for more info.
When is The View on? How to watch The View Season 25:
The View is back on today, Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m. ET. Keep tuning in to ABC on weekday mornings at 11/10c to watch over the next few months.
If you want to watch The View online, all you’ll have to do is head on over to ABC’s website and log in with your cable credentials. Don’t have cable credentials? There’s a fix for that too: you’ll need to subscribe to a premium streaming service such as Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, FuboTV, or AT&T TV Now.
