Over the last five years or so, TikTok has opened the floodgates for interest in many popular products from kitchen utensils to makeup. But there’s one item that particularly gets plenty of views on the platform: leggings. Whether they’re the Aerie crossover tights or the “butt-crack” leggings, TikTok users just can’t seem to get enough legging recommendations from fellow enthusiasts.
“TikTok leggings” are usually soft, comfortable, durable, inexpensive and make you look absolutely amazing, hence the fascination.
The now-infamous Aerie leggings gave the illusion of a smaller waist and the viral Amazon “butt-crack” leggings seem to give the bum a lift, even if you don’t have much to work with.
But there’s one pair from Abercrombie — yes, the coveted store of the early 2000s — that may be giving these viral TikTok leggings a run for their money!
The Abercrombie Contour Leggings come in almost a dozen different colors including classic black, army green, light blue and more. They’re ultra high-rise with super soft and stretchy fabric that is bound to flatter every curve. The material (80% polyester, 20% elastane) is sweat-wicking and features a hidden waistband pocket that’s optimal for storing small essentials.
People have been loving these leggings for their high-rise form and super soft material.
“I had high hopes for these leggings and they did not disappoint,” wrote one reviewer on the brand’s website. “They feel incredibly soft and smooth to touch. [They’re also] not see-through, even when squatting with light-colored panties.” She also added that while these leggings don’t have compression, they sit smoothly and don’t let you notice any bumpy skin on your bum or thighs.
“These pants are butter-soft. I couldn’t stop touching the fabric,” said another reviewer. “They’re just like my Lulus, at half the price. Oh my goodness I can’t recommend them enough.”
One reviewer even said they’re better than her Lululemon leggings, known to be quite pricy. “I never write reviews but these leggings are amazing! I’ve tried [many] brands of leggings (Lululemon, Athleta, Gap, Tory Burch) and these are by far the best,” she said. “They’re high-waisted and actually stay put. No need to constantly adjust. They are thick enough so you don’t see underwear without being too heavy to workout in. So comfortable!”
Like most of us, you probably haven’t even thought about wearing anything from Abercrombie & Fitch for at least more than a decade or two, but the brand is proving that the fashions of yesteryear just might be back in style!
