The iconic Jeopardy theme song just got a catchy new update thanks to Sting. The musician, who made an appearance as a guest host on last night’s episode, put his own twist on “Think,” per Entertainment Tonight. Sting pulls out his trusty acoustic guitar to take on the song that plays during Final Jeopardy, but adds his own custom lyrics to the tune.
In a video that closed out yesterday’s Jeopardy episode, Sting serenades viewers with “Think,” beginning with the lyrics, “Of all the things in my CV, everything in life from A to Z, but how I wish my ma could see, here I am on Jeopardy.” Sting repeats “Here I am on Jeopardy” before closing out the song with some final notes on the guitar and a wink.
Not only did Sting switch up the Jeopardy theme song, he even got his very own category on the show. Contestants were challenged to answer trivia about the British musician’s life and career, with each clue presented by Sting himself. Questions included which of Sting’s songs was awarded for most radio plays, who he collaborated with on his most recent album, and the name of the final album of his former band, The Police.
Sting wasn’t the only special guest on Jeopardy last night, though. Contestants were joined on stage by interim host and famous journalist Katie Couric, who makes history as the first woman to host the game show. Couric is one of many guest hosts stepping in to fill hosting duties after the death of Alex Trebek last fall. ABC has not named a formal replacement yet, and instead recruited Aaron Rodgers, Mayim Bialik, Anderson Cooper, and more.
Couric began her hosting gig March 8 and wraps up with her final episode tonight. Next up is Dr. Mehmet Oz, Host of The Doctor Oz Show, who will take over starting Monday, March 22.
