In his view, “more support” translates into a direct supply of vaccine to the city — as opposed to having the supply pass through the state, which de Blasio views as counterproductive. According to de Blasio, it also means an increase in the number of doses allocated to the city, to account for out-of-towners getting their shots within the five boroughs, as well as a lifting of state requirements on where people can be vaccinated.
